Key job responsibilities

  • Partner closely with the core Commodity Engineering team while operating within the Electronic Supply Chain team
  • Serve as a senior technical authority for Engineering, Supply Chain, Quality, and Manufacturing teams
  • Collaborate with suppliers and cross-functional teams to lead Component Failure Analysis investigations and drive systemic Corrective Actions that prevent recurrence

Sourcing & Supplier Management

  • Working closely with the Global Commodity Manager and Material Program Manager team, identify and recommend potential alternate parts for risk and issue mitigation and/or cost reduction.
  • Parentheting with the Commodity Engineering and Electrical Engineering teams as well as the Global Commodity Managers, define the long term preferred vendor list for electronic component vendors

Component Evaluation & Selection

  • Enforce requirements compliance standards for Electrical Component Requests
  • Alternate component research to reduce supply chain risk
  • Drive equivalency research strategy to expand and diversify component options

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Drive alignment across design, manufacturing, quality, and supply chain leadership on component strategy
  • Develop, implement, and improve component related problem resolution strategies in the supply chain with Quality, Operations, Engineering, and Reliability

Basic Qualifications

  • Experience in developing functional specifications, design verification plans and functional test procedures
  • Experience mentoring team members on best practices
  • Experience communicating clearly and concisely with leadership, stakeholders, and cross-functional teams
  • 5+ years working as a Component Engineer in space, aerospace, industrial, automotive, or other high-tech industry
  • Experience working with and maintaining an eCAD library
  • Expertise with Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) tools
  • Experience leading component qualification programs for space or aerospace applications

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering, or equivalent
  • Experience working with interdisciplinary teams to execute product design from concept to production
  • Experience with the project management of technical projects
  • Experience coordinating between technical teams, peers and business stakeholders
  • Experience conveying complex technical concepts to both technical and business audiences
  • Experience creating qualification plans and leading obsolescence analyses for electronic components
  • Experience on obsolescence analyses and implementing mitigation strategies
  • Demonstrated ability of developing component qualification plans and test strategies
  • Knowledge of radiation effects on electronics and component derating practices

Pay

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.

USA, WA, Bellevue - 137,300.00 - 185,700.00 USD annually
