Sr. Commissioning Manager, North America

For our client, we are seeking a Sr. Commissioning Manager, North America to join the team of a leader in the Energy & Utilities space. This remote leadership role will oversee commissioning activities across a portfolio of utility-scale energy storage projects throughout North America. The position will guide field teams, drive technical execution, and ensure safe, coordinated energization from planning through closeout. You will serve as a senior point of escalation for technical and safety matters while partnering closely with project teams to align staffing, procedures, testing, and documentation. The role requires both strong people leadership and deep technical expertise in electrical systems and high-voltage environments. Location: Remote - US based candidates only, no visa sponsorship available Compensation: $160,000 – $185,000 annually Responsibilities Lead and develop a team of Commissioning Managers and field personnel Oversee commissioning for a portfolio of energy storage projects Manage staffing and resource allocation effectively Develop project-specific commissioning strategies and procedures Serve as the senior escalation point for technical and safety issues Provide technical oversight during system testing and energization Ensure comprehensive completion of project documentation Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field 8+ years of progressive experience in commissioning or renewable energy Direct experience with utility-scale battery energy storage systems Proven leadership in managing technical teams and projects Expertise in electrical power systems and high-voltage equipment Knowledge of battery systems and related technologies Strong conflict-resolution and decision-making capabilities Benefits Opportunities for professional growth and advancement Engagement in cutting-edge renewable energy technology Collaborative work environment with a focus on team development Travel opportunities across North America Flexible work arrangements based on project needs Our client is an equal opportunity employer.
