Responsibilities

  • Underwrite and manage a profitable portfolio of new and renewal commercial lines business.
  • Partner with agents and brokers to build strong relationships, identify profitable growth opportunities, and drive agency success.
  • Evaluate complex risks and determine appropriate pricing, terms, and coverage solutions in accordance with company guidelines and underwriting authority.
  • Monitor portfolio performance, profitability, and agency results to support long-term business success.
  • Collaborate with underwriting leadership and cross-functional partners to enhance products, processes, and underwriting strategies.
  • Share expertise with team members through mentoring, training, and ongoing knowledge sharing.
  • Stay current on industry trends, market conditions, and underwriting best practices through continuing education and professional development.

Requirements

  • 4+ years of commercial lines underwriting experience with a proven ability to develop and manage a profitable book of business.
  • Strong underwriting judgment, analytical skills, and risk assessment capabilities.
  • Ability to evaluate complex risks and make sound business decisions.
  • Excellent relationship-building and communication skills with agents, brokers, and internal partners.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver results.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent industry experience preferred.
