Sr. Collections Specialist

About the Role

The Senior Collections Analyst manages an assigned portfolio of delinquent accounts to maximize recoveries, reduce delinquency, and prevent further credit deterioration. The position works directly with customers to secure payments, payment commitments, develop resolution strategies, and escalate higher-risk relationships while maintaining a professional customer experience.

Responsibilities

• Manage an assigned portfolio of delinquent accounts and achieve established collection and recovery goals.
• Contact customers to resolve delinquency, obtain Promise to Pays, and follow up on broken commitments.
• Travel as needed to conduct customer site visits for collection, recovery, or account resolution.
• Prioritize high-balance, high-risk, and deteriorating relationships and escalate concerns in a timely manner.
• Develop and recommend collection strategies, including modification, Workout, Legal action, or repossession when appropriate.
• Maintain timely and accurate documentation of all collection activities and account strategies.
• Partner with Customer Service, Loan Servicing, Credit, Risk, Workout, Legal, and Sales to resolve customer and portfolio issues.
• Identify operational barriers impacting repayment and escalate for resolution.
• Participate in portfolio reviews and provide timely updates on assigned accounts.
• Maintain compliance with established policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• 3 to 5 years of collections, financial services, or related experience.
• Commercial lending, equipment finance, or banking experience strongly preferred.
• Demonstrated ability to manage delinquent accounts and achieve recovery goals.
• Experience with CRM, collections, and contact center technology; FIS, nCino, and Five9 experience preferred.

Pay

Pay Range: $20.50 – $32.12 per hour. Actual compensation within the range will be determined based on factors including skills, prior relevant experience, and specific work location.
