About the Role
Operates and programs the Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM) for inspection of product. Gathers, analyzes, and reports custom-written programs to generate inspection data for manufacturing, engineering, and quality. Performs all dimensional layouts using coordinate measuring equipment and prepares layout reports.
This role requires in-depth conceptual and practical knowledge in the job discipline and basic knowledge of related disciplines. You will solve complex problems with minimal guidance, act as a resource for colleagues, and may lead projects or project steps.
Responsibilities
- Creates inspection programs for the Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM).
- Gathers, analyzes, and reports custom-written programs to generate inspection data for manufacturing, engineering, and quality.
- Interprets blueprints and analyzes the measurements that the machine outputs.
- May lead CMM training with other technicians or operators.
- Troubleshoots, fixes, and reports non-conforming materials as needed.
Requirements
- Associate's Degree and 5-7 years of experience OR equivalent combination of relevant education and/or experience.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- Machine Programming.
- Manufacturing Quality Inspection.
- Reading Blueprints/Diagrams.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree.
Physical Requirements
- Must be able to remain in a stationary position at a desk and/or computer for extended periods.
- Requires regular movement throughout GD-OTS facilities.
- Must be able to lift up to 45 pounds.
- May need to stand for long periods.
- Work may require exposure to changing climate conditions and/or operating machinery.
- This position is Safety Sensitive.
- May be requested to work a different shift.
Travel Requirements
Less than 25% travel likely.
