Sr. Cloud Engineer
About the role
We are seeking a highly motivated Senior Cloud Engineer to join our multi-million dollar National Intelligence program supporting the Cloud Investment Multi-Cloud Management (CIMM) team. As a contributor to the Intelligence Community’s first multi-cloud initiative, you will be at the epicenter of emergent cloud computing technologies, establishing a foundation that will evolve to include all agencies within the IC. As a Senior Cloud Engineer, you will advise Government IT teams on the design and build of single- or multi-cloud computing architecture solutions that meet mission requirements, and develop future technology and architectural advancements to support the Government’s architectural strategy, cloud migration, and continued evolution.
Responsibilities
- Advise senior business and technical personnel to aid in the delivery of robust, scalable cloud architectures that meet or exceed mission requirements
- Serve as a cloud agnostic advocate and help educate the Government customer on cloud services appropriate to meet mission requirements
- Provide advisory services to maintain and evolve the future-state service provider-authored, multi-cloud architecture and knowledge database based on ever-changing IC mission needs and ensure optimization of cost, consumption, and performance of services are achieved across all Cloud Service Providers (CSPs)
- Develop a baseline multi-cloud architecture methodology and framework for implementation within the C2E multi-cloud ecosystem
- Support the development and maintenance of data models, data dictionaries, data maps, and other architecture artifacts across the enterprise
- Design all cloud solutions in alignment with applicable policies, standards, and practices
- Provide creative and innovative architectural solutions to ill-defined requirements
- Review and assess impact of proposed scope changes to future architectures
- May be required to provide cloud agnostic technical guidance in the formulation of customer multi-cloud work statements
Qualifications
- Must be a US Citizen
- Must have an active TS/SCI with Polygraph
- Bachelor’s Degree in STEM domain or related field
- Five (5) or more years of experience in a cloud and/or hybrid environment (additional 4 years of experience in lieu of degree)
- Five (5) or more years of demonstrated experience in one or more of the following activities:
- IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS services (e.g., compute, storage, network, security, administration, automation, application services, and databases)
- Designing and deploying cloud solutions to Amazon Web Services (AWS), Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud Platform (GCP), IBM Cloud, or Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI)
- Large-scale data architecture, data modeling, database design, and information systems implementation
- Demonstrated knowledge and expertise in enterprise data strategy, data governance practices, data stewardship principles, data standards, and metadata management best practices
- Ability to translate requirements into end-to-end designs for systems that involve multiple interfaces and support data repositories
- Strong customer service skills, teaming skills, and the ability to collaborate within a cross-functional team, as well as the CSPs (AWS, Azure, Google, IBM, and Oracle)
- Certification(s):
- AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner
- AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Associate
- Cloud related (e.g., DevOps, Security, and/or ML)
Desired
- Certifications in any of the following CSPs:
- Azure
- OCI
- GCP
- IBM
- Experience as a cloud agnostic architect
- Strong analysis and quality assessment skills
- Experience with successful full life cycle cloud development projects
- Experience with various Linux and Microsoft Windows OS distributions
- Experience with Structured Query Language (SQL) and databases
- Experience migrating both custom built and enterprise apps to and from on-prem to cloud
- Experience debugging performance and technical issues
- Experience building and deploying systems in the cloud using continuous integration/continuous delivery (CI/CD) frameworks and infrastructure automation
- Excellent written and verbal communications skills
- Ability to work well independently and within a team environment
- Ability to explain technical issues clearly and accurately to both technical and non-technical audiences
- Demonstrated ability to adjust to change priorities
Pay
Target salary range $200,001 - $240,000. The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
