About the role
The Sr. Cloud Cybersecurity Architect plays a critical role in shaping and advancing Molex’s cloud security strategy by defining the architectures, guardrails, and patterns that enable teams to build and operate securely at scale. This role is responsible for designing security-by-default cloud architectures and embedding security into platforms, pipelines, and cloud-native services across hybrid and multi-cloud environments.
Responsibilities
- Define, evolve and evangelize cloud security architectures, reference designs, and guardrails that enable secure-by-design practices across hybrid and multi-cloud environments
- Establish and maintain security standards and architectural patterns for cloud-native services, containerized workloads, serverless architectures, and identity-driven access models
- Embed security into Infrastructure as Code, CI/CD pipelines, and platform capabilities to enable automated, scalable security controls
- Partner with cloud platform, application, and development teams to provide architectural guidance, threat modeling, and design reviews aligned with Zero Trust principles
- Design and guide implementation of identity and access architectures, including IAM, least-privilege access, and continuous validation
- Collaborate with Security Operations and Incident Response teams to ensure architectural decisions support effective detection, response, and recovery
- Advise architects and engineering teams on cloud security trade-offs, patterns, and best practices aligned with business risk tolerance
- Monitor evolving cloud security threats, architectures, and industry trends to continuously improve standards and architectural guidance
Requirements
- 8+ years of progressive experience in cybersecurity, with significant experience designing and securing cloud environments
- Strong experience securing IaaS and PaaS platforms in hybrid or multi-cloud environments
- Deep understanding of cloud-native architectures, including containers, microservices, and serverless workloads
- Hands-on experience with Infrastructure as Code and embedding security controls into automated deployments
- Strong knowledge of Identity and Access Management concepts and Zero Trust principles
- Experience partnering with development and platform teams on secure design, threat modeling, and DevSecOps practices
Qualifications
- Hands-on experience securing serverless, containerized, and API-driven workloads at scale
- Direct experience supporting aerospace and defense or defense-adjacent workloads, including securing hybrid enclaves for Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI)
- Demonstrated ability to translate compliance and regulatory requirements into scalable architectural patterns, automated controls, and guardrails rather than manual processes
- Strong understanding of identity-first and Zero Trust architectures in environments with elevated regulatory and audit expectations
- Proven ability to influence secure design decisions across teams without relying on enforcement or gatekeeping
- Experience partnering with engineering, platform, and compliance teams to balance delivery velocity with regulatory obligations
- Experience designing and operating cloud security architectures in regulated environments, including practical application of CMMC and FedRAMP requirements within enterprise and hybrid cloud environments
Skills
- Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, Google Cloud, etc.
- Knowledge of security tools and technologies like SIEM, DLP, and encryption solutions
- Experience with security frameworks and standards such as NIST, CIS, OWASP, etc.
- Ability to communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
- Experience with cloud-native development and deployment practices
