Sr. Clinical Lab Scientist - Weekend Overnights
About the role
The Senior Clinical Laboratory Scientist at Exact Sciences plays a crucial role in providing accurate and timely laboratory testing to support patient care and decision-making. This position requires a strong foundation in laboratory science, with a focus on high complexity testing and quality assurance.
Responsibilities
- Perform moderate and highly complex laboratory tests, procedures, and analyses according to established protocols.
- Review and document laboratory quality control procedures.
- Identify and address potential problems, contributing to the maintenance of high-quality test processes and results.
- Achieve and maintain competency on assigned tasks.
- Participate in research, validation, and implementation of new procedures and technologies.
- Maintain stringent quality standards, identifying and addressing issues that could affect test results or employee safety.
- Demonstrate effective communication and collaboration with internal and external stakeholders.
- Support and comply with the company’s Quality Management System policies and procedures.
- Adapt to changes in the laboratory environment with a positive attitude.
- Model behaviors that promote high productivity, quality, and adherence to turnaround times.
- Provide leadership in daily activities as a shift senior scientist, including writing, reviewing procedures, and developing the troubleshooting and decision-making skills of colleagues.
- Assist in the development of the troubleshooting and decision-making skills of Clinical Laboratory Scientists I and II.
- Recognize deviations from accepted practices and perform root cause analysis.
Requirements
- Associate degree in a laboratory science (chemical or biological science) or medical laboratory technology from an accredited institution, or equivalent laboratory training and experience.
- Minimum of 3 years of high complexity clinical testing experience in a clinical laboratory setting.
- Strong professionalism and leadership skills.
- Intermediate-level project management skills.
- Strong technical skills and professional working knowledge of the job industry.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to lift up to 40 pounds and work in various positions.
- Ability to comply with safety and hazard regulations.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in a chemical, biological, or clinical laboratory science or medical technology from an accredited institution, or equivalent education and experience.
- At least 90 semester hours of coursework, including 16 semester hours in chemistry (6 of which must be in inorganic chemistry), 16 semester hours in biology, and 3 semester hours of math.
- Certification from a nationally recognized certification agency such as ASCP, or state licensure that is equivalent.
- Experience with laboratory automation and laboratory information systems.
- Experience in molecular biology techniques and principles.

Pay
The annual base salary for this position ranges from $69,000.00 to $122,000.00, depending on location and experience. This position is also eligible for bonuses.
Schedule
Shift: Saturday through Monday, 6 PM - 6:30 AM
