About the Role

The Senior Business Analyst supports internal and external customers in growing the core business with accurate and insightful data analysis. This role requires knowledge of and experience with software tools to create, edit, and analyze complex reports, graphs, and presentations. The ideal candidate makes sound decisions, takes initiative, and is accountable for the accuracy of information. They independently take ownership of projects to completion by effectively coordinating all necessary resources and resolve complex, non-routine problems where no precedent exists, without supervision.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze business needs and requirements, providing recommendations to implement and administer new or existing products, processes, and systems.
  • Identify client organization’s strengths and weaknesses and suggest areas of improvement.
  • Utilize various data systems to extract raw data from reporting systems and conduct in-depth analysis on KPIs.
  • Define major business opportunities by prioritizing information to support the goals of clients, customers, and the company.
  • Consult with internal and external customers to present data and provide actionable insights that assist in meeting business objectives, tactics, or marketing strategies.
  • Perform project management duties, including executing project schedules, monitoring progress, coordinating activities, resolving problems, and ensuring timely deliverables.
  • Communicate effectively with clients to identify needs and evaluate alternative business solutions.
  • Provide business updates and track overall business KPIs for management and the executive team.
  • Manage and maintain ongoing strategic and collaborative relationships.
  • Manage, train, and mentor direct reports to help them achieve skill development and professional objectives.
  • Oversee the workload of direct reports to ensure client satisfaction.
  • Create best-in-class practices for the team to follow.
  • Ensure the team thoroughly understands the company’s businesses and the issues and challenges facing the industry and organization.
  • Perform other job-related projects as needed.

Supervisory Responsibilities

  • Hire, retain, train, coach, guide, and develop direct reports using company-wide processes, tools, and resources.
  • May delegate work to others and provide guidance, direction, and mentoring to indirect reports.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience.
  • 3-5 years of experience in a sales/category insights and analytics role (CPG or Agency).

  • Analytical and research skills.

  • Team-building skills.
  • Ability to work independently and prioritize duties with minimal supervision to meet deadlines.
  • Ability to complete multiple duties with accuracy while shifting between tasks with frequent interruptions and competing deadlines.
  • Excellent customer service orientation.
  • Strong computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Outlook, and web browsers.
