About the role

The Senior Buyer Planner – US Valve is responsible for end-to-end planning activities throughout the Fluidics segment. This role partners with the Supply Chain Manager in sales and operations planning, working closely with the commercial team to build forecasts and ensure production plans and materials support customer demand. The planner collaborates with commercial, sourcing, and operations teams to align capacity with long-term growth projections.

Responsibilities

  • Build Standard Work for material planning activities for US Valve products.
  • Partner with the commercial team to develop monthly revenue projections considering demand, supply constraints, and consumption history.
  • Create short- and long-term supply plans balancing demand vs. available capacity; address capacity gaps with the production team.
  • Own the MRP process for the assigned portfolio, including issuing/monitoring purchase orders and expediting/de-expediting parts to meet demand and maintain inventory levels.
  • Interface with Customer Experience and Inside Sales to address supply chain topics such as stock availability, demand outlook, and supply risks.
  • Apply 80/20, ABCXYZ, and Plan For Every Part (PFEP) concepts to determine safety stock levels through analytics and execute plans to meet key metrics.
  • Review freight reports, identify root causes for expedited costs, and charge back suppliers when appropriate.
  • Communicate with vendors on performance and escalate significant supply chain risks or opportunities.
  • Coordinate with Engineering and sourcing on new product development and Engineering Change Requests to ensure proper material setup in the system.
  • Review and analyze cycle counts to assist the warehouse in root cause countermeasures for inventory accuracy.
  • Own the material plan (MTO, MTS, Kanban) and analysis to ensure 95%+ on-time delivery to customers.

Requirements

  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interface effectively with suppliers and cross-functional teams.
  • Knowledge of lean concepts, including standard work development.
  • Disciplined approach to creating and adhering to Material and Production Planning standard work.
  • Advanced Excel skills, including data analysis, formulas, and pivot tables to support data-driven decision-making.
  • Strong analytical skills, detail-oriented, and ability to multitask.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Advanced knowledge of ERP systems (J.D. Edwards preferred).
  • 5+ years of relevant experience in Materials/Supply Chain, Sourcing, or Finance.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent (preferably in Supply Chain Management, finance, or engineering) or equivalent experience.
  • APICS certification preferred.

Physical Demands

  • Ability to move around and remain stationary; use hands to handle objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; talk and hear.
  • Specific vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
  • Ability to safely move around production and warehouse areas for inventory discrepancy analysis and Gemba walks.

Work Environment

  • Office environment with visits to assembly and warehouse areas required.
  • Minimal noise with occasional spikes.
  • Required to wear safety glasses and shoes and utilize safety equipment while on the shop floor.

Pay

The compensation range for this position is $97,000.00 - $145,400.00, depending on experience. This position may be eligible for a performance-based bonus plan.
