Sr. Buyer (Ingredients)
Responsibilities
Lead the strategic sourcing function for all purchased ingredients.
Coach Ingredient Buyer(s) accountable for executing the sourcing strategy, providing day to day support, coaching and long-term development.
Build and enhance high trust, mutually beneficial relationships with suppliers.
Proactively partner with suppliers to improve cost, quality and service.
Collaborate with shareholders to address non-conforming materials and mitigate business impact.
Identify, propose and implement opportunities to reduce commodity related business risk.
Lead sourcing activities for new products using a category management approach.
Develop and maintain strong cross-functional relationships with the R&D, FSQ and Operations teams.
Initiate, negotiate, and implement supply agreements in a professional and ethical manner.
Execute category scorecard to gauge performance and drive accountability.
Collect and analyze market data resulting in delivery of commodity analysis and forecast.
Requirements
Minimum of five years of pertinent experience required.
Experience working with a wide range of external vendors is highly desired.
Previous coaching or leadership experience preferred.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
