Key Responsibilities
- Identify, evaluate, and manage relationships with suppliers and vendors
- Negotiate pricing, lead times, and contract terms to achieve optimal value
- Develop long-term supplier partnerships to ensure supply continuity and performance
- Develop and execute sourcing strategies aligned with business objectives
- Collaborate with internal teams to forecast demand and maintain optimal inventory levels
- Analyze market trends and supplier performance to drive cost savings and mitigate risk
- Lead contract negotiations and ensure compliance with company and regulatory requirements
- Support audits and maintain supplier performance standards
- Monitor inventory levels and manage purchasing budgets effectively
- Identify and implement cost-reduction and process improvement initiatives
- Ensure compliance with legal, regulatory, and environmental standards
- Mitigate supply chain risk through contingency planning and supplier diversification
- Prepare and present reports on procurement metrics, cost savings, and supplier performance
- Partner cross-functionally to resolve supply, quality, and delivery challenges
- Mentor and support junior team members as needed
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 5+ years of procurement or purchasing experience, ideally within manufacturing or a technical environment
- Strong experience in supplier management and contract negotiation
- Experience with international sourcing and complex procurement processes
- ERP system experience (SAP, Oracle, Epicor, or similar)
- Excellent analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
- Knowledge of procurement best practices, sourcing strategies, and market trends
