About the Role

A role in Buying means working with diverse vendors to choose the best product mix, both in-store and online. You’ll help determine where to localize, calibrate market positioning, and act as a brand manager. As a Senior Buyer, you’ll create omni-channel growth by planning profitable and locally relevant assortments using your understanding of guest shopping behavior, assortment requirements, and competitors.

• Influence and negotiate with vendors to achieve results and identify gaps and opportunities
• Translate financial metrics and data into actionable strategies
• Lead cross-functional teams to drive category results while managing progress toward sales and margin goals
• Partner with product designers, category managers, and vendors to guide product development and sourcing
• Collaborate with Associate Buyers, Senior Merchandise Specialists, Pricing and Promotion Center of Excellence, Planning, Site Merchandising, and the Item Center of Excellence to support promotional planning across channels

About You

• Four-year degree or equivalent experience
• 4+ years of Merchandising experience
• Strong strategic and analytical skills to grow a business
• Strong collaboration skills to partner with cross-functional teams
• Flexible, resilient, and comfortable working in evolving or ambiguous situations

Schedule

This position operates as a Hybrid/Flex for Your Day work arrangement based on Target’s needs. The role requires onsite work at the Target HQ in Minnesota and virtual work, depending on daily tasks. Work duties cannot be performed outside of the primary work location’s country unless otherwise prescribed by Target.
