Responsibilities
- Establish the supply chain for new product development within the Powered Vehicle Group (PVG) Sourcing Team to support Tier 1 OEM automotive customers.
- Manage supplier choice, prototyping, and production builds while adhering to development schedules.
- Oversee project material cost impacts and changes; conduct supplier quoting, selection, and issue special build POs considering project scope, budget, and margin targets.
- Lead cross-functional team project reviews at each phase.
- Execute and communicate engineering prototype and developmental demands.
- Ensure open communication of project status to all stakeholders, collaborating with Engineering, Test, Manufacturing, Planning, Document Control, Quality Control, Purchasing, and Sourcing.
- Track supplier communication, cost, and schedules through BOM reviews and cost-down activities.
- Manage the transition of parts from development to production buyers/procurement.
- Facilitate Design for Manufacturing (DFM) reviews between project teams and suppliers to identify opportunities in part design and supplier processes.
- Initiate the onboarding process for new suppliers and ensure all system setups are complete.
- Travel up to 10% domestically to manufacturing locations (Georgia & California).
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration, economics, or engineering.
- 5+ years of progressively responsible Tier 1 Automotive purchasing and material control experience, with program buying experience.
- Strong written and verbal communication, leadership, and prioritization skills.
- Familiarity with ERP and BOM systems.
- Ability to operate as a project lead across multiple projects and disciplines.
- Ability to build consensus and drive decision-making in cross-functional teams.
Preferred Qualifications
- Oracle knowledge.
- Experience with manufacturing processes.
- Project management or supply chain experience.
