Sr. Business Analyst - Compliance

About the role

This Senior Business Analyst will perform highly impactful strategic and analytical work supporting Compliance organizations across Capital One. In this mission-critical role, you will use data to empower compliance testing, drive the enterprise complaint program, and improve customer experience. By partnering closely with leaders across the organization—including senior business and compliance leaders, Technology, Product, Risk Office, Legal, and Risk Management—you will ensure our products remain innovative, compliant, and customer-centric.

Responsibilities

• Analysis: Identify business challenges and opportunities for improvement and solve for them using analysis to make strategic or tactical recommendations.
• Product: Perform modeling and analytics to assist internal Compliance product build.
• Execution: Apply problem frameworks, develop hypotheses, test and analyze, develop solutions, assess operational feasibility, lead implementation efforts, and create a monitoring plan.
• Partnership: Collaborate closely with colleagues across Capital One, including senior business and compliance leaders, Technology, Product, Risk Office, Legal, Risk Management, and others.

Strategic & analytic orientation

A proven track record of decision-making and problem-solving based on analytics. Conceptual thinking skills must be complemented by a strong quantitative orientation, given that a large part of the business is based on rigorous analytic marketing and credit risk management.

Strong communication skills

Impeccable written and oral communication credentials, coupled with strategic influencing skills and the ability to drive agreement through intellect, interpersonal, and negotiation skills.

Preferred qualifications

• Master’s Degree in Business or a quantitative field such as Finance, Economics, Physical Sciences, Math, Statistics, or Engineering
• 1+ years of experience in statistical model building
• 1+ years of experience in SQL querying and Python programming
• 2+ years of experience in business analysis
• 1+ years of experience in consulting

Pay

McLean, VA: $111,200 – $126,900

Plano, TX: $101,100 – $115,400

Richmond, VA: $101,100 – $115,400

Candidates hired to work in other locations will be subject to the pay range associated with that location, and the actual annualized salary amount offered will be reflected in the candidate’s offer letter. This role is also eligible to earn performance-based incentive compensation, which may include cash bonuses and/or long-term incentives.
