Sr Business Analyst

About the Role

The Senior Business Analyst serves as the liaison between the business and IT departments, translating business needs into IT solutions and vice versa for current programs, projects, and initiatives.

Responsibilities

• IT Strategy and Planning: Demonstrate business and system expertise by problem-solving, providing analysis and system solution options, functional specifications, and executing project tasks. Assist with the identification, analysis, and resolution of application issues. Provide analysis to support new software implementation and enhancement business cases.
• User Experience Analysis: Create project-level documentation for current and future state solutions, including meeting notes, key decisions, and risks. Document requirements for business requirements and design specifications. Work effectively within an agile framework, assisting in sprint planning, creating user stories, acceptance criteria, and providing testing and reporting support.
• Requirements Elicitation: Facilitate requirements gathering sessions with different business areas to identify and solution end-to-end processes, incorporating business process re-engineering or new system functionality.
• Requirements Definition and Management: Develop functional, reporting, security, and technical requirements for business groups and collaborate closely with developers on design and testing. Work with QA to support testing efforts.
• Quality Assurance: Manage and coordinate project-related tasks to ensure timely completion. Manage small project teams or projects as needed. Act as a unit tester for new functions and features to ensure business needs are met. Provide project or deployment support to the entire project team.
• Project Analysis: Conduct analysis into project-related issues and products. Prioritize and execute tasks in high-pressure environments. Learn, understand, and apply new technologies. Organize and disseminate complex information to stakeholders. Identify and resolve constraints, risks, issues, and key decisions. Communicate project risks and issues clearly to stakeholders.
• Collaboration and Communication: Demonstrate strong collaboration, influencing, and listening skills. Adapt to shifting priorities, demands, and timelines through analytical and problem-solving capabilities. React promptly and efficiently to project adjustments. Exhibit strong written and oral communication skills.
• Tracking and Reporting: Create clear and concise documentation, including issue, risk, and decision logs, as well as status reports. Assist the Project Manager or lead small project teams.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree (Science or Arts).
• 3+ years’ experience working with systems.
• 3+ years’ experience with SDLC, system development methodologies, requirements gathering, and business process mapping.
• Previous Business Analysis experience.
• Ability to translate business needs into system specifications, familiar with agile framework and processes (Epic, Feature, and Story creation).
• Experience working with project teams from project initiation to closing.
• Excellent critical thinking, process analysis, and mapping skills (e.g., Visio, Lucid).
• Strong collaboration, influencing, and listening skills.
• Good oral and verbal communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• PMI-PBA, CBAP, or CAPM certification (in good standing).
• Agile Practice Certification – CSM or AAC.
• Building or construction industry experience.
