Sr. Banking Advisor

Major Duties
- Develops new relationships and identifies prospects, creating marketing strategies for specific clients.
- Manages complex wealth management, banking, credit, and treasury management client relationships, identifying opportunities beyond banking in investment and fiduciary areas.
- Structures and negotiates complex loan and/or lease agreements according to senior bank and business unit management guidelines.
- Analyzes and negotiates loan terms, including special pricing conditions, interest rates, swaps, and other financial instruments, based on the Credit Policy Committee's directives.
- Oversees and negotiates the preparation of all necessary documentation for financing agreements.
- Advises and consults with clients regarding their goals-driven wealth management needs.
- Generates leads through established relationships with Co-Involved Individuals (COIs) and expands a network of additional COIs.
- Provides comprehensive, in-depth consulting and leadership to team members and partners at a high technical level.
- Carries out large-scale, cross-functional, and technically challenging tasks.
- Balances high-level operational execution with strategic direction of business functions.
- Directly interacts with various committees and/or management levels.
- Strategically develops, implements, and administers programs within functional areas.
- Leads functional teams or projects with moderate resource requirements, risk, and/or complexity.
Knowledge
- Advanced knowledge of the banking industry, competition, and financing, typically gained through formal education and experience.
- Knowledge of investments, trusts, and financial consulting concepts to identify cross-selling opportunities.
Skills
- Negotiation, leadership, and sales skills to develop and maintain client and prospect relationships and build a partner network.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills to communicate complex concepts and negotiate effectively.
- Highly flexible and adaptable to change to respond to internal and external business challenges.
- Ability to interpret business challenges and recommend best practices to improve products, processes, or services.
Experience
- At least 5 years in financial analysis and client servicing, or commercial lending or leasing experience.
- Might lead functional teams or projects with moderate resource requirements, risk, and/or complexity.
Pay
The salary range for this position is $158,010 - $268,640 USD. Northern Trust offers a comprehensive benefits package including retirement benefits (401k and pension), health and welfare benefits (medical, dental, vision, spending accounts, and disability), paid time off, parental and caregiver leave, life & accident insurance, and other voluntary and well-being benefits. A discretionary bonus program with an equity component is also available.
