Sr. Backend Developer

### 1. About Our Client:The organization operates multiple vehicle rental brands across approximately 9,700 corporate and franchise locations worldwide, including North America, Europe, the Caribbean, Latin America, Africa, the Middle East, Asia, Australia, and New Zealand. It is among the largest global airport vehicle rental companies, recognized for its extensive reach and brand presence in the rental industry. ### 2. About the Opportunity:The **Sr. Backend Developer** will design, build, and scale critical rental systems that support core business operations. This role is responsible for leading backend development efforts, driving architectural decisions, and delivering scalable, resilient systems that enhance customer rental experiences and operational platforms. ### 3. Responsibilities:• Design and develop end-to-end backend features• Own key components such as reservations, pricing, fleet management, and checkout flows• Build scalable microservices and responsive user interfaces• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate business needs into technical solutions• Lead architectural discussions and influence system design• Mentor junior engineers and promote best engineering practices• Ensure performance, security, scalability, and maintainability standards ### 4. Requirements:• 5+ years of backend software engineering experience• Proven track record building and scaling production-grade systems• Experience with domain-heavy systems such as rental, travel, e-commerce, or logistics preferred• Proficiency in Java, Spring Boot, or similar technologies• Strong skills in designing APIs and microservices• Deep understanding of system design, scalability, and distributed systems• Experience with CI/CD, DevOps practices, and observability tools• Test-driven development and automation mindset• Strong problem-solving, analytical, communication, and collaboration skills• Ability to own features end-to-end with a product-focused mindset• Adaptability to fast-paced environments• Knowledge of authentication, authorization, and security best practices• Experience working with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) Preferred:• Knowledge of databases such as PostgreSQL, MySQL, DynamoDB• Experience with caching, messaging systems like Kafka or SQS, and event-driven architectures• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent ### 5. Pay Range and Compensation Package:• Salary range: $120,000 to $140,000, commensurate with experience ### 6.
