About the role
ANS is seeking a Sr. Automation Engineer (Networks) to join our team in Chantilly, VA. This position is contingent upon contract award.
Responsibilities
- Install, configure, and maintain Cisco Network Services Orchestrator (NSO) solutions and associated network infrastructure components, ensuring high availability, performance, and reliability.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex network and service deployment issues, leveraging NSO logs and monitoring tools to perform root cause analysis.
- Integrate NSO with various network devices, external systems, and APIs using protocols like NETCONF, RESTCONF, and JSON-RPC.
- Develop and maintain automation scripts using Python, Java, or other relevant languages to streamline operations and enhance efficiency.
- Perform regular system maintenance, including software upgrades (NED upgrades), patching, security auditing, and configuration backups for network devices.
- Collaborate with network architects, software developers, and operations teams to define requirements and ensure seamless integration of new solutions.
- Create and maintain comprehensive technical documentation related to installations, configurations, and network processes.
Requirements
- TS SCI Poly clearance
- 16+ years of experience, including a Doctorate and 8 years, master’s and 10 years, bachelor’s and 12 years, associates and 14 years or HS diploma and 16 years.
- Expert knowledge of networking fundamentals and protocols (TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, MPLS, etc.).
- Expert knowledge and experience installing, upgrading, and maintaining software in a Linux (RHEL) environment.
- Intermediate scripting skills (e.g., Python).
- Effective analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting abilities to diagnose and resolve complex technical issues.
- Solid technical communication skills and the ability to work effectively within cross-functional teams.
Desired
- Proven experience in network administration or engineering, with hands-on experience in configuring Cisco and/or Juniper routers and switches.
- Familiarity with YANG data modeling language.
- Experience with network automation and orchestration tools, specifically Cisco Network Services Orchestrator (NSO).

Pay
The anticipated pay range for this position is $100,000 - $200,000 USD.
