Sr. Automation Controls System Engineer

About the role

PennEngineering is seeking a motivated, excited individual to join the Innovation Systems Team as the Sr. Automation Controls Systems Engineer. You’ll collaborate with teams that do truly amazing things, contributing to work that matters in Manufacturing and Engineering.

Responsibilities

• Design automation and controls systems for manufacturing equipment
• Program and configure PLCs, HMIs, and robotic controllers
• Commission new automated systems at customer facilities
• Debug and troubleshoot control system and robotic integration issues
• Travel to customer sites (up to 30%) to support installed automated manufacturing systems
• Collaborate with mechanical and electrical engineering teams throughout the project lifecycle

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering (or related field) desired
• Proven experience designing, programming, commissioning, debugging, and troubleshooting automated manufacturing systems
• Emphasis on robotic systems integration experience
• Willingness and ability to travel up to 30% to customer sites
