Job Summary For Sr. Automation Architect Job Title: Sr. Automation Architect Employment Type: Long-term contract Location: Woodlawn, MD (5 days per week onsite; onsite interview required) Core Responsibilities Architect, design, code, and implement advanced automation frameworks and solutions. Develop and enhance Selenium automation frameworks (Junit/TestNG, Maven). Build and maintain Selenium Grid for parallel and cross-platform testing. Design and develop automation scripts for UI and REST API testing (Java, Cucumber, Gherkin, REST Assured, Parasoft). Integrate automation with CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins). Query databases (PostgreSQL, DB2, Oracle) using SQL to validate test results. Provide technical leadership and mentorship to automation engineers. Collaborate with integration teams to execute automation in integration environments. Guide and train team members on automation best practices and project-specific requirements. Document test results and defects, create and execute manual test scripts as needed. Act as Scrum Master and participate in Agile ceremonies (Scrum/Kanban). Required Skills/Qualifications 7+ years' experience (Bachelor's) or 5+ years (Master s) or 13+ years in lieu of degree. Advanced Java programming skills (preferred); experience with JavaScript, TypeScript, or Python is a plus. Strong expertise in Selenium, Cucumber, Gherkin, Junit/TestNG, Maven. Hands-on experience developing/customizing automation frameworks (not just executing tests). Proficiency in REST API automation, Parasoft, and functional/API testing tools. Experience integrating automation with CI/CD (Jenkins). Knowledge of relational databases and SQL. In-depth knowledge of BDD, TDD, and Agile/Scrum methodologies. Leadership/mentoring experience in automation teams. Willingness and eligibility to work onsite in Woodlawn, MD. Preferred/Desired Skills Experience with Playwright, Cypress, UiPath automation tools. Experience with Git/Stash, VersionOne (Agility), Confluence, SonarQube, and Checkmarx. Familiarity with AWS, Docker, and cloud/virtualization technologies. Exposure to AI-assisted test automation and self-healing frameworks. Experience configuring/executing automation tests in containers. Knowledge of synthetic data generation methods (with/without AI).
