About the role
We are seeking a Senior Field Auto Appraiser to support the Boston Metro South, MA area. This role involves evaluating and appraising vehicle damage claims, ensuring accuracy in compliance with state laws and regulations. The ideal candidate will have 2 years of auto appraising experience, proficient knowledge of P&C insurance policy contracts, and advanced estimating skills.
Responsibilities
- Evaluate and appraise highly complex auto physical damage claims using digital tools.
- Investigate claim damages, communicate with insureds, internal claims adjusters, and third parties/vendors.
- Review facts of loss and vehicle damage to identify subrogation opportunities and ensure all documentation is accurate.
- Demonstrate knowledge of insurance industry products, services, and internal processes.
- Review claims/suppliers for fraud indicators and refer to Special Investigations Unit if necessary.
- Maintain accurate claim file documentation and adhere to high standards of productivity.
- Review additional damages from repair facilities and ensure completion of supplements or triage to field provider methods.
- Provide policyholder information regarding coverage, repair estimates, and claims processes.
- Support workload surges and CAT response operations, including mandatory on-call dates and potential evening, weekend, and holiday work.
- Manage various types of claims, including complex ones, and assist with additional work as needed.
- Identify, measure, monitor, and control risks associated with business activities in accordance with policies and procedures.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or General Equivalency Diploma.
- 2 years of auto appraising experience.
- Proficient knowledge of P&C insurance policy contracts and coverages.
- Advanced working knowledge of estimating losses using CCC or similar platforms.
- Demonstrated written and verbal communication skills.
- Acquire and maintain an insurance adjuster license within 90 days and 3 attempts.
Qualifications
- May require operating a company vehicle within assigned territory.
- May require reaching, handling, squatting, bending, climbing, and kneeling to complete inspections.
- May require working outdoors in inclement weather and in body shop or salvage yard environments.
- May be required to meet USAA's safe driving requirements and have a valid driver's license.

Pay
The salary range for this position is: $63,590 - $121,530. USAA does not provide visa sponsorship for this role. Applicants must not need immigration support to work in the U.S.
