About This Role

We are seeking a highly motivated Senior Associate Scientist to join our dynamic neuromuscular research group. You will be instrumental in advancing research programs focused on muscle disorders. This role involves contributing to the design and execution of experiments, ensuring the delivery of high-quality data and analyses. You will independently troubleshoot technical details and collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive the progression of projects. As part of a collaborative team, your work will have a direct impact on understanding and potentially treating muscle disorders, fitting seamlessly into the broader mission of our organization to innovate and improve patient outcomes.

What You’ll Do

  • Perform hands-on laboratory work, including molecular biology, biochemical assays, cell culture, and animal studies.
  • Independently troubleshoot experiments and optimize protocols.
  • Generate, analyze, and interpret data using appropriate statistical and analytical tools in a timely manner, while maintaining accurate and detailed experimental records (ELN).
  • Present data clearly and concisely in team meetings and other cross-functional forums.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to facilitate research progress.
  • Contribute to study design and experimental planning, researching new in vitro and in vivo models in disease areas of interest.

Required Skills

  • B.S. with 2+ years or M.S. with 0-2+ years of relevant academic or industry experience.
  • Degree in Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, or related field.
  • Demonstrated hands-on experience with techniques such as:
    • Cell culture and Molecular Biology (primary muscle cell culture, RNA/DNA extraction, RT-qPCR).
    • Protein analysis (Western blot, ELISA/MSD).
    • Tissue culture and cell-based assays (transfection/transduction, immunofluorescence).
    • Rodent handling and tissue collection methods.
    • Ability to run statistical analyses using GraphPad Prism or similar data analysis software.

Preferred Skills

  • Strong scientific background in muscle biology and/or genetics of muscle disorders such as DMD and DM1.
  • Direct experience working with primary or immortalized myoblasts, myotubes, and/or 3D myobundles.
  • Familiarity with in vitro and/or in vivo assays relevant to muscle physiology.

Additional Information

The base compensation range for this role is: $75,000.00-$98,000.00 Base salary offered is determined through an analytical approach utilizing a combination of factors including, but not limited to, relevant skills & experience, job location, and internal equity. Regular employees are eligible to receive both short term and long-term incentives, including cash bonus and equity incentive opportunities, designed to reward recent achievements and recognize your future potential based on individual, business unit and company performance.
