Sr Associate, Proposal Creation
About the role
Grant Thornton is seeking a Proposal Creation Senior Associate to join the Connected Sales & Marketing function. In this role, you will craft compelling, client-focused proposal narratives that showcase the firm's tax, audit, and advisory capabilities to prospective clients. You'll translate offerings into clear value propositions, collaborate with subject matter experts to develop winning content, and support the full proposal lifecycle from qualification to submission. This position requires the ability to work West Coast hours and may involve travel as needed.
Responsibilities
- Manage the end-to-end proposal development process from initial request intake through content creation to final delivery, with a focus on supporting strategic pursuits in the Technology industry on the West Coast.
- Collaborate with business development teams and subject matter experts to understand client needs and craft tailored value propositions focused on winning strategies.
- Develop compelling executive summaries, approach methodologies, and solution narratives that address specific client challenges.
- Curate and customize professional biographies, case studies, and qualification statements that showcase relevant expertise.
- Research industry trends, competitive positioning, and market insights to enhance proposal messaging and differentiation.
- Incorporate AI tools into day-to-day proposal development activities to accelerate research, draft and refine content, summarize source materials, and improve workflow efficiency while applying sound judgment and quality review.
- Coordinate with pricing specialists to integrate fee structures and scope descriptions that align with proposed solutions.
- Ensure quality control through rigorous editing, formatting, and compliance with firm brand standards and proposal requirements.
- Manage multiple proposal projects simultaneously while meeting tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Maintain and continuously improve proposal content libraries, templates, and best practice resources.
- Support proposal review sessions and incorporate feedback from stakeholders to strengthen final deliverables.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, English, or related field.
- 2-4 years of experience in proposal writing, content development, or similar roles, preferably in professional services.
- Excellent writing and editing skills with strong attention to detail and quality.
- Demonstrated ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear, persuasive content.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite, particularly advanced skills in PowerPoint, Word, and Excel.
- Experience with proposal automation software or content management systems preferred.
- Experience using AI-enabled tools for drafting, editing, summarizing, research support, content optimization, and productivity enhancement.
- Strong project management capabilities with the ability to prioritize competing demands.
- Knowledge of professional services industry offerings and competitive landscape.
- Exceptional collaborative skills with the ability to work effectively across functions and geographies.
- Outstanding communication abilities with experience coordinating with onshore teams.
- Commitment to continuous improvement and eagerness to stay current on industry trends.
Pay
The base salary range for this position is between $72,000 and $100,000. Placement within the pay range is at Grant Thornton’s discretion and is based on multiple factors, including but not limited to job-related knowledge/skills, experience, business needs, progression within the role, geographic location, and internal equity.

Consistent with the firm's hybrid work model, this position will require in-person attendance at least three days per week, either at a GT office or client site.
