About ACV

ACV is a technology company revolutionizing how dealers buy and sell cars online. We are transforming the automotive industry by building the most trusted and efficient digital marketplace with data solutions for sourcing, selling, and managing used vehicles. Our platforms—ACV Auctions, ACV Transportation, ClearCar, MAX Digital, ACV Capital, True360, and Data Services—provide transparency and comprehensive insights that were once unimaginable. As disruptors in the automotive wholesale category, we leverage proprietary data, cutting-edge technology, and a marketplace trusted by thousands nationwide to create the intelligence layer for the future of automotive commerce.

About the Role

This is a small, nimble team focused on high-impact initiatives rather than traditional corporate strategy. You will work directly with senior leadership on growth strategy, new business lines, large-scale partnerships, international expansion, and M&A strategy and execution. The role involves real ownership, requiring you to distill critical information for executive audiences while also diving into details. The ideal candidate is intellectually rigorous, relationship-oriented, results-driven, and energized by ambiguity.

Responsibilities

  • Growth & New Business: Evaluate and launch new business lines from initial thesis through execution, advising operational teams. Identify and develop strategic partnerships from scoping to implementation.
  • M&A: Support M&A execution across the entire lifecycle, including sourcing, due diligence, modeling, and post-close integration planning and execution.
  • Program Management: Lead cross-functional initiatives where ownership is ambiguous. Hold stakeholders accountable to timelines and decisions while creating structure where none exists.
  • Strategy & Market Intelligence: Lead opportunity assessments to inform ACV’s investments, builds, or partnerships, including market sizing, competitive positioning, and business model analysis. Develop and deliver materials for executive and board-level audiences, distilling complex tradeoffs into clear, actionable recommendations.

Requirements

  • 2–5 years of experience at a top management consulting firm or similar role.
  • Bachelor's degree with a strong academic record.
  • Superior analytical skills—ability to build analyses and recommendations that withstand scrutiny.
  • Exceptional ability to develop strong working relationships.
  • Ability to synthesize qualitative and quantitative findings to create structure around ambiguity.
  • Experience program-managing cross-functionally across a broad set of stakeholders.
  • Resourcefulness, persistence, and ability to thrive in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment.
  • Low ego, high ownership—collaborative by default but capable of driving independently.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.

Benefits

  • Multiple medical plans, including a high-deductible, low-cost health plan.
  • Company-sponsored (paid) short-term disability, long-term disability, and life insurance.
  • Comprehensive optional benefits such as dental, vision, supplemental life/AD&D, legal/ID protection, and accident and critical illness insurance.
  • Generous paid time off, including uncapped vacation days, paid sick leave (greater of 3 days or state/local requirements), 6 paid company holidays, 2 floating holidays, parental leave, bereavement leave, jury duty leave, voting leave, and other legally required paid leave.
  • Employee Stock Purchase Program with additional opportunities to earn company stock.
  • Retirement planning through the company’s 401(k).
