Sr Architect - Emerging Technologies (Fraud Detection and Governance)

This position is needed to drive next-generation innovation by designing, prototyping, and implementing forward-looking technical solutions for Twilio’s innovation team. Responsibilities
- Architect and prototype scalable, high-performance solutions using modern technologies.
- Experiment and iterate on new product ideas, leveraging AI, machine learning, and emerging tech.
- Lead technical direction, guiding and mentoring engineering teams throughout the development lifecycle.
- Partner cross-functionally to align prototypes with business opportunities and strategic goals.
- Mentor a group of software development engineers across US and India.
- Communicate technical vision and results clearly to stakeholders and executive leadership.
Qualifications
- 15+ years in architecture or principal engineering roles within innovative, fast-paced environments.
- Applied fraud detection and governance framework experience.
- Familiarity with AI, machine learning, and LLMs with experience deploying models or AI-driven projects.
- Demonstrated success designing large-scale, high-performance architectures across AWS & Azure.
- Strong leadership and mentoring skills, with proven ability to drive technical direction.
- Excellent communication skills for both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Proficiency in multiple programming languages (e.g., JavaScript, Python, Java, Go).
- Experience with both front-end (React, Angular) and back-end (Node.js, Spring, SpringBoot) development.
- Deep understanding of database technologies (SQL and NoSQL) and their tradeoffs.

- Track record of rapid prototyping and iterative product development.
- Exposure to distributed systems and high-reliability platforms.
