Sr. Applied Scientist, AWS Automated Reasoning
About the role
The successful candidate will solve large or significantly complex problems that require deep knowledge and understanding of your domain and scientific innovation. You will own strategic problem solving, take the lead on the design, implementation, and delivery for solutions that have a long-term quantifiable impact, and provide cross-organizational technical influence to increase productivity and effectiveness by sharing your deep knowledge and experience.
This role involves developing strategic plans to identify fundamentally new solutions for business problems and assisting in the career development of others through active mentoring on advanced technical issues.

Responsibilities
- Solve large or significantly complex problems requiring deep domain knowledge and scientific innovation.
- Lead strategic problem-solving, design, implementation, and delivery of long-term impactful solutions.
- Provide cross-organizational technical influence to enhance productivity and effectiveness.
- Develop strategic plans for fundamentally new solutions to business problems.
- Mentor individuals and the community on advanced technical issues.
Qualifications
- PhD or equivalent research experience.
- Experience in any of the following areas: SAT, SMT, mechanical theorem proving, symbolic simulation, programming language type systems, or program analysis.
Skills
- Preferred experience programming in OCaml, Dafny, Haskell, Kotlin, Lean, Rust, Scala, or related languages.

Pay
- USA, MA, Boston: $167,100 - $226,100 USD annually.
- USA, OR, Portland: $167,100 - $226,100 USD annually.
- USA, TX, Austin: $167,100 - $226,100 USD annually.
- USA, WA, Seattle: $167,100 - $226,100 USD annually.
Your package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation is determined based on experience, qualifications, and location.
