Sr. Applied Scientist, Amazon Robotics

About the role

The Sr. Applied Scientist, Amazon Robotics is responsible for innovating on combining language models with classical AI reasoning. This role involves working with a team of scientists and engineers to solve complex problems in robotics, automation, and fulfillment.

Responsibilities

• Work closely with other scientists and engineers, and be part of Amazon’s diverse global science community.
• Publish your research in top-tier academic venues and hone your presentation skills.
• Inspire by challenges and opportunities to invent new techniques in your area(s) of expertise.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of building machine learning models for business applications.
• PhD, or Master's degree and 6+ years of applied research experience.
• Experience programming in Java, C++, Python or related language.
• Experience with neural deep learning methods and machine learning.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with modeling tools such as R, scikit-learn, Spark MLLib, MxNet, Tensorflow, numpy, scipy etc.
• Experience with large scale distributed systems such as Hadoop, Spark etc.
