Sr Applications Developer

About the role

Assists in the design, development, testing, and maintenance of enterprise web applications. Resolves day-to-day incidents to ensure service integrity, mentors junior developers, and provides technical leadership. Works closely with business partners to define requirements, document specifications, and train end users. Follows IT procedures and naming conventions while keeping abreast of technological advances.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and test software applications according to specifications and end-user requirements.
• Resolve incidents to maintain service integrity and meet SLAs.
• Consume, transform, and update data between systems using integration software.
• Analyze requests for changes or modifications to existing applications and recommend design solutions.
• Create documentation including software objectives, deliverables, business requirements, and end-user specifications.
• Mentor and provide technical direction to Applications Developers and other IT staff.
• Prepare system, context, and infrastructure diagrams for application development and analysis.
• Train end users on new or modified programs, reporting tools, and analytics.
• Prepare reports for management and team members on assignment status.
• Work with end users on systems analysis, general systems design, and detailed systems design.
• Stay current with technological advances in programming languages, utilities, tools, and client/server technology.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, MIS, Information Technology, Business, or a closely related field.
• Four years of experience in software programming.

Skills

• 7+ years of experience designing, developing, and supporting enterprise web applications.
• Strong proficiency in PHP and Java development.
• Hands-on experience with the Yii 2 Framework.
• Deep expertise in SQL development, query optimization, and database design (Oracle and Microsoft SQL Server).
• Strong understanding of relational database concepts, indexing strategies, stored procedures, and performance tuning.
• Experience designing and consuming RESTful APIs and web services.
• Proficiency with JavaScript, jQuery, AJAX, HTML5, and CSS3.
• Experience integrating applications with third-party systems and enterprise services.
• Familiarity with authentication technologies, SSO, OAuth, Active Directory, LDAP, and role-based access controls.
• Experience troubleshooting complex production issues and performing root cause analysis.
• Familiarity with Linux and Windows server environments.
• Experience modernizing legacy applications and participating in cloud migration initiatives is a plus.

Communication Skills

Ability to communicate, persuade, and influence internal and external business partners, including senior management, on technical and complex matters.

Numeric Skills

Ability to perform analyses involving ratios, percentages, and simple statistical methods.

Computer Skills

Very high level of computer skills required to use various software packages and familiarity with hardware configuration. Proficiency in MS Office tools.

Work Conditions

Works in an office environment. Position may require work outside normal business hours. Occasionally involves activities such as bending, stooping, grasping, reaching, twisting, turning, and/or lifting.
