Sr. Application Engineer: Thermal Fluids
Job Responsibilities
Aid customers using our software to design and analyze their systems, particularly those in the electric vehicle industry. Conduct proof-of-concept projects to showcase advanced software solutions to potential clients. Gather customer insights and collaborate with development teams to refine and test new product features. Engage with both established and emerging companies through educational sessions, trade shows, and marketing initiatives. Promote GT's role in aiding automotive companies towards achieving net-zero emissions goals.
Opportunity for limited travel to customer sites across the United States, if applicable.
Education and Experience
A Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in mechanical or aerospace engineering (or a comparable field) is mandatory. At least 2-7 years of relevant work experience is preferred, though new graduates with research experience or internships in a related field are also considered.
Strong written and verbal communication skills are essential. The ability to work both independently and as part of a team is valued. Additional qualifications include experience with 1-D simulation software like GT-SUITE, Amesim, Dymola, Simscape, or other CAE/simulation tools, as well as proficiency in 3D CFD techniques. Experience with automotive applications, including design, measurement, instrumentation, controls, and SAE projects (such as Formula SAE, Baja SAE, EcoCAR, etc.), is desirable.
