About the role
The scientist position in the Analytical R&D Group is based in Piscataway, New Jersey and is a contract role. The incumbent will be expected to make a significant contribution to analytical methods development and validation for drug products intended for regulatory registration.
Responsibilities
- Develop and validate analytical methods (mostly LC and GC) for active pharmaceutical ingredients, excipients and dosage forms to be used in the analytical R&D laboratory for routine analysis.
- Ensure that procedures are technically developed and conform to appropriate standards of identity, strength, quality, purity of components.
- Develop and optimize new and existing analytical methods for qualification, release testing of products.
- Perform and coordinate laboratory equipment qualifications, calibrations and preventative maintenance programs as needed.
- Audit/review laboratory data for approval to next step.
Qualifications
- BS + 3‑5 years or MS + 2 years (chemistry degree)
- Broad knowledge of modern analytical and organic chemistry
- Extensive experience in cGMP laboratory testing with hands‑on experience with sophisticated instruments such as UPLC, HPLC, GC, LC/MS, GC/MS
