Sr. Advisor - Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS)

Responsibilities

• Advise leadership on the agency’s current strategies and direction, which could include digital quality measurement and the transition to dQMs, value-based care, payment innovation, Medicare Advantage oversight and payment accuracy, program integrity, Medicaid and marketplace integrity, and the agency’s expanding use of AI
• Help set and guide the company’s vision for impactful approaches and solutions across CMS, grounded in the agency’s mission, priorities, and operational needs
• Translate CMS policy direction, budget, rulemaking, and organizational change into concrete implications for the health and technology portfolio strategy
• Guide development of white papers, RFI responses, and thought leadership that position Commence as valuable contributor to agency priorities
• Build and steward relationships across the CMS ecosystem, including research organizations, associations
• Advise delivery leadership on client expectations and program stewardship so that performance on current work reinforces desired outcomes

Qualifications

• 10 or more years in federal health care, including service at CMS in a senior leadership capacity such as center or office leadership, group or division direction, senior executive service, or an equivalent role
• Deep working knowledge of CMS programs which could include: Medicare, Medicaid, Medicare Advantage, quality programs, program integrity and payment innovation, and of how the centers and offices interact to set and execute priorities
• Advanced degree in public health, health policy, economics, public administration, law, or a related field preferred

Work Environment

This is a remote position. While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works in a climate-controlled environment. Candidates must be able to sit, read, work on a computer, and watch a computer screen for extended periods of time. Occasionally required to stand, walk, use hands and fingers, kneel or crouch.

Pay

$150-$350/hour
