About the role

You will report directly to our Project Engineering Manager and work out of our Phoenix Engines location on a hybrid work schedule. For the first 90 days, new hires must be prepared to work 100% onsite Monday through Friday. As a Senior Advanced Project Engineer, Gas Turbine Engines, you will play a critical role in a high-priority B-52 Stratofortress development program focused on designing, testing, and fielding a new auxiliary power unit (APU). This senior-level role involves planning and implementing design as well as design verification, including analysis, APU qualification, and flight testing.

Responsibilities

  • Lead, plan, and coordinate advanced engineering activities related to gas turbine engine development.
  • Support the creation, review, and maintenance of qualification and test documentation.
  • Collaborate with design, manufacturing, and quality teams to resolve technical challenges and ensure program milestones are met.
  • Participate in verification and testing phases, including flight testing of gas turbine engines, to validate performance and compliance.
  • Drive innovation in engineering solutions to improve product performance and meet program requirements.
  • Facilitate communication and coordination across multiple teams to ensure alignment and timely delivery.

Requirements

You must have:

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in a technical discipline such as science, technology, engineering, or mathematics.
  • Strong background in gas turbine engine development.
  • Minimum 6 years of experience in engineering or related roles.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and project coordination skills.
  • Familiarity with aerospace engineering principles, project management, and product lifecycle management.
  • U.S. Person status (U.S. citizen, U.S. permanent resident, or protected status under asylum/refugee status, or ability to obtain export authorization) due to compliance with U.S. export control laws and regulations.
