About the role
The successful candidate must reside within 50 miles of a FedEx Freight location within the continental US.
Responsibilities
- Lead the Enterprise Architecture Center of Excellence (CoE) through best-practice development, training, and enablement activities
- Maintain architecture standards and practices to ensure consistency, scalability, and security across enterprise systems
- Support portfolio reviews to guide technology investment decisions and ensure alignment with business priorities
- Identify training needs and skill gaps within the organization
- Provide architectural oversight and guidance across applications, data, and infrastructure/cloud environments, translating enterprise strategies into actionable designs in partnership with product, engineering, and data teams
- Collaborate with stakeholders, e.g., solution architects, to ensure interoperability, alignment, and adoption of architectural standards across technology domains
- Comply with all applicable laws/regulations, as well as company policies/procedures
- Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field
- Seven (7) years of experience in enterprise or solution architecture within complex environment
- Strong expertise in architecture frameworks such as The Open Group Architecture Framework (TOGAF) or ArchiMate, including modeling tools
- Familiarity with modern data platforms including master data management (MDM), data lakes, and real-time data streaming
- Strong communication skills to explain architecture concepts to technical and non-technical audiences
- Strategic mindset with the ability to connect architecture decisions to business value and risk
- Skilled collaborator capable of influencing adoption of standards across distributed teams
Preferred Skills/Knowledge
- Partners with business and IT stakeholders to plan and govern projects, manage resource capacity across portfolios, and perform financial analysis of technology investments to optimize cost, value, and risk
- Develops and guides technology roadmaps, evaluates solution options, and ensures alignment with enterprise standards while balancing demand, capacity, and budget constraints
- Experience in COE / SRE cross teams engagements is desired
