About the role
GovCIO is hiring a SQA tester to support the Health Services Portfolio Technical Management and Strategic Solutioning Support (HTMS) program within the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) Office of Information and Technology (OIT). This is a fully remote position within the United States with core office hours of 8am – 5pm ET.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and implement testing methods and equipment to ensure products perform to specifications.
- Use technical expertise on IT products and collaborate with developers, end users, and organizations to create test plans and test scripts.
- Plan test events, track problems, and report identified errors while assisting with the defect database.
- Coordinate with test sites and team participants to plan and execute test events.
- Develop testing procedures, test plans, scripts, scenarios, functional tests, regression tests, and deployment tests.
- Implement testing processes and ensure all test activities follow those processes.
- Produce reports on each test activity and track test metrics.
- Monitor for continual test process improvement through failure analysis, throughput analysis, and yield analysis, reporting findings to management periodically.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related scientific or technical discipline plus 10 years of experience. 8 years of additional relevant experience may be substituted for education.
- Experience in the software development lifecycle.
- Experience testing Veterans Health Information Systems and Technology Architecture (VistA), Graphical User Interface (GUI) applications, and Section 508 compliance.
- Proficient with MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio), MS SharePoint, and MS Teams.
- Experience using Jira in an Agile or SAFe environment.
- Demonstrated experience in a remote work environment.
- Great interpersonal skills and ability to work independently with minimal guidance/supervision.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a VA Public Trust clearance.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience supporting the Department of Veterans Affairs and/or other Federal Agencies.
- Experience in VA Pharmacy.
- Well-versed in VA project management methodology and other VA-related reporting methodologies.
- Willingness and ability to quickly learn new skills, client environments, and grow domain expertise.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
- Excellent prioritization and time management skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines while staying organized.
- 508 Testing experience is a plus.
Pay
USD $100,000.00 - USD $105,000.00 per year.
