Position Description
The SPY Radar Transmitter Technician (SME) will be part of an Operations & Maintenance (O&M) Team as a Combat System (CS) Maintainer providing critical mission readiness support. The location is at the Ashore Missile Defense Site in Deveselu, Romania. The position requires previous radar experience and will be responsible for performing scheduled maintenance, unscheduled corrective maintenance, system monitoring, and installing approved equipment modifications depending on the complexity of the SPY Radar system.
- Technical support includes evaluations, assessments, equipment functional checks, assistance on communications systems, troubleshooting/test/analysis, and equipment repair, part installation, operation, and maintenance for installed systems and equipment including peripheral, interfaced, and support systems.
- Scope also includes providing equipment/system check-out and verification recommendations/support to active duty personnel, training in equipment operation, meeting/presentation/briefing support, interacting with customers, SMEs, managers, and senior leadership.
- Familiarity with ORTS to aid in system monitoring and trouble shooting.
- CS Maintainers will provide overall technical support for the Weapon System equipment. All CS Maintainers must be able to align, operate (in a maintenance capacity only), and shut down Combat Systems and Commercial Off the Shelf (COTS) equipment under their cognizance in accordance with Combat Systems Operational Sequencing System (CSOSS) for those systems supported by CSOSS and/or relevant technical manual and preventive maintenance procedures. All maintenance and system alignments will be coordinated with the CSOOW.
This position requires long-term relocation to Romania. Work schedule is typically a standard work week but requires a willingness and availability to support a 7-day, 24-hour shift effort, as required, for mission critical troubleshooting or operations.

- Information Assurance Technician Level II Certification (Network+ and Security+, or equivalents)
