About the role
We are one of the largest U.S. railroads transporting the nation’s freight across 28 western states and 3 Canadian provinces. As a member of our team, you will play a role in supporting the movement of essential products and materials that help feed, clothe, supply, and power communities throughout America and the world.
The BNSF Railway's Transportation Department plays a crucial role in ensuring the timely and safe movement of goods across one of North America's largest freight rail transportation networks. This position offers the opportunity to work in a fast-paced environment, coordinating and overseeing the complex logistics of rail transportation.
Responsibilities
- Assist in implementing policy and the execution of the operating plan.
- Supervise TY&E employees and plan daily train and switching operations consistent with safety and efficiency.
- Conduct operations tests and safety meetings.
- Investigate accidents and injuries.
- Monitor and control costs to meet goals.
- Insure compliance with BNSF's equal employment policies, safety and operating rules, schedule agreements, and government regulations.
Qualifications
Must be currently certified as a BNSF First Line Supervisor.
Must possess a working knowledge of operating rules and schedule agreements applicable to the TY&E crafts.
Must possess leadership and organizational skills as well as excellent working knowledge of day-to-day railroad operations and practices.
Must possess strong TSS Xpress system knowledge.
Position requires a motivated, self-directed individual with excellent organizational skills and a strong work ethic.
Position will require shift, holiday, and weekend work
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior terminal and/or road operations experience is preferable.
- Designated Supervisor Locomotive Engineer (DSLE) certification preferred.
- Supervisory experience is preferred.
- Knowledge of federal regulations (OSHA, EPA, FRA, and EEO) is preferred.

Pay
Salary Range: $113,000 annually
