About the role
The Hospital of Central Connecticut is an acute-care community teaching hospital providing comprehensive inpatient and outpatient services in general medicine and surgery, as well as a wide variety of specialties.
Responsibilities
- Performs a variety of processing duties including: decontamination, sterilization, supply, case cart assembly and packaging.
- Fulfills all requirements for documentation to ensure the department is able to distribute high quality sterile products in an efficient manner to effectively meet the requirements of its customers.
- Maintains a thorough knowledge of instrumentation, equipment, utilization, and sterile processing.
- Runs the floor independently in the absence of the supervisor, performing and delegating assigned duties.
- Works in collaboration with the O.R. to provide patient required instrumentation.
Requirements
- High School graduate or equivalent.
- Current "Sterile Processing Distribution Technician Certification" from the Certification Board for Sterile Processing and Distribution Inc. (CBSPD) required or ability to become certified within 18 months of hire.
- One year experience in Central Sterile Supply preferred.
- Ability to read, write and speak English required.
Qualifications

Schedule
Monday - Friday, 7:00a-3:30p, with required weekend and holiday rotation.
