About the role

Sciens Building Solutions is seeking a Sprinkler Helper to learn and assist with the installation and service of all forms of fire sprinkler systems and services. This key position supports a growing team and is ideal for someone interested in learning the fire sprinkler trade and starting a career in the exciting, sustainable fire‑life safety industry.

Responsibilities

• Assist Sprinkler Service Technicians with coordination and installation of overhead sprinkler systems, fire pumps, standpipes, and hose systems.
• Attend and participate in weekly job‑site safety meetings.
• Learn and assist in reading and interpreting blueprints to help install prefabricated fire sprinkler piping.
• Occasionally communicate with various contractors and trades to ensure projects stay on time and on budget.
• Comply with industry‑standard procedures and Sciens safety programs/policies.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Desire to enroll in a Sprinkler Fitter apprentice program and grow within the fire and life safety industry.
• Self‑starter; able to work independently and as a team player with a can‑do attitude.
• Ability to use basic hand tools.
• Willingness to learn how to read and comprehend blueprints, specifications, and project schedules.
• Willingness to learn how to thread and groove pipe.
• Willingness to travel to local job‑site locations.
• Physical fitness to perform demanding trade work, including frequent lifting of up to 25 lb (occasional lifting up to 50 lb), working from heights, climbing ladders, and standing/walking for most of the workday.
• Ability to obtain OSHA 10 certification.
• Ability to work under tight deadlines with a sense of urgency.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
