Spring 2027 Test Engineering Internship - Undergraduate
About the role
Join our team of problem solvers as we add new chapters to the history of spaceflight. As part of a hardworking team, interns work directly with Blue engineering teams on projects in support of our business units.
Responsibilities
- Gain hands-on test experience in design, analysis, test planning and operation of test systems for testing fluid, propulsion, mechanical, avionics software, structures, GNC and electronic systems.
- Some projects may involve working at a test stand and working at heights.
Requirements
- Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.
- Currently enrolled in an undergraduate program and have at least one semester or quarter of school remaining after the internship.
- Completed at least one year of full-time coursework post high school graduation at the time of application (obtained sophomore standing).
- Available to work full time for 15 weeks while not concurrently enrolled in coursework.
- Strong written, verbal, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Strong interest in Blue Origin's mission.
Qualifications
- We would love to see the following experience!
- Test environment experience.
- Fluid Mechanics, thermodynamics and/or propulsion systems.
- Component test, FEA, CFD.
- MATLAB or Simulink.
- Programming languages including Python, C/C++.
- Relevant internship/co-op and academic project experience that demonstrate development of both technical skills relevant to the internship as well as leadership qualities.
- Hands-on project experience.
- Co-curricular engagement.
Skills
Preferred skills include:
- Test environment experience.
- Fluid Mechanics, thermodynamics and/or propulsion systems.
- Component test, FEA, CFD.
- MATLAB or Simulink.
- Programming languages including Python, C/C++.
Benefits
We offer housing and relocation support. Interns are responsible for daily transportation to and from their work locations.
Pay
Hourly compensation for applicant is: $32.00
