About the role

Underdog Multimedia is looking for motivated students and emerging creatives who want hands-on experience inside the independent music industry. Interns can focus primarily on Underdog Artist Group (artist management, booking and artist marketing) or Bandsyde (music media, editorial, content and audience development), while gaining exposure to projects across the larger Underdog Multimedia network.

What You May Help With

Underdog Artist Group

  • Research venues, festivals, talent buyers, support opportunities and new markets
  • Help maintain booking, venue and industry contact databases
  • Organize artist assets, calendars, EPK materials and project trackers
  • Research sponsorships, media opportunities and artist partnerships
  • Assist with release rollouts, show promotion and content planning
  • Research comparable artists, touring activity and audience markets
  • Assist with live-event projects when opportunities are available in DFW

Bandsyde

  • Research emerging artists, releases, tours, venues and music-industry news
  • Pitch and develop articles, interviews, artist features and show recaps
  • Help create recurring scene reports and music-discovery content
  • Turn editorial stories and interviews into social and short-form content
  • Research interview and podcast guests
  • Assist with newsletters, audience growth and community initiatives
  • Help cover artists, shows, venues and regional music scenes

Depending on your interests and skills, additional projects may include graphic design, photography/video, website content, email marketing, merch research, sponsorship research, analytics and creative campaign development.

What We're Looking For

This is intended to be a hands-on learning experience, not an observation-only internship. Interns will contribute to real projects, receive guidance and feedback, and have the opportunity to take ownership of a larger project during the program.

No previous professional music-industry experience is required. We are looking for people who are curious, dependable, creative, organized and genuinely interested in learning how the industry works.

Schedule

  • Approximately 8–12 hours per week
  • 10–12 weeks
  • Remote or DFW hybrid
  • Academic credit supported when applicable
