Spray Application of Chemicals

The Spray Technician is responsible for applying chemicals as directed.

Possesses an awareness of and commits to chemical safety practices.

Following Instructions

Able to follow through on assigned tasks and instructions accurately.

Education and Experience

• Has or can obtain a Qualified Agricultural Laborer (QAL) certification.
• Basic knowledge of plant material.
• Communicates in English and Spanish – both orally and in writing.

Physical Demands and Requirements

• Works in or around situations near direct automotive traffic.
• Works near or about natural bodies of water.
• Works 8+ hours per day with applicable breaks, including some overtime and weekend work.
• Works in extreme conditions, including temperatures exceeding 100 degrees Fahrenheit.
• Works in direct sunlight for extended periods.
• Lifts and carries up to 40 lbs. (e.g., mulch, fertilizer).
• Loads/unloads burlaps with plant cuttings onto the trailer (up to 50 lbs.).
• Bends, stoops, and twists continuously throughout the day.
• Works outdoors in extreme conditions near automotive traffic, natural bodies of water, and direct sunlight.
