Spray Tech

About the Role

Champions Retreat Golf Club, a 27-hole private golf club located near Augusta, Georgia, is seeking a Spray Technician to assist in daily course maintenance. This role is vital in maintaining the championship golf course designed by Arnold Palmer, Jack Nicklaus, and Gary Player. The Spray Technician will work under the Golf Course Superintendent and Assistant Golf Course Superintendent, contributing to the unique experience offered to members and guests.

Responsibilities

• Assist in all fertilizer, chemical, and seeding operations.
• Operate and understand granular fertilizer spreaders and liquid sprayers.
• Calibrate both granular and liquid products through spreaders or sprayers.
• Perform routine safety inspections on all spraying equipment.
• Follow up on the progress of assigned daily tasks with management.
• Maintain fertilizer and pesticide records, calibration sheets, Material Safety Data Sheets, and employee disciplinary forms.
• Ensure cleanliness and organization of the maintenance building and surrounding grounds, including tool rooms, fertilizer/chemical rooms, equipment storage areas, wash racks, sand bins, break rooms, bathrooms, offices, and front entrances.
• Maintain chemical storage/mixing areas in compliance with county, state, and federal regulations.

Requirements

• 2-4 year degree in Turfgrass Management, a turf certificate, or multiple years of experience.
• Pesticide Applicator License.
• Preferred two years of golf course experience.
• Strong organization skills.
• Team player with a strong work ethic and positive attitude.
• Ability to work independently and proactively in a fast-paced environment.
• Effective communication skills.
• Willingness to dedicate time and effort to achieve department goals.
• Ability to work holidays, weekends, and be flexible with changes.
• Ability to work outdoors for long periods in varying weather conditions.
• Ability to stand or walk for up to five hours without sitting.
• Ability to perform heavy physical labor, including bending, lifting, stooping, kneeling, climbing, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, and grasping.
• Lift up to 100 pounds occasionally and up to 50 pounds frequently.

Qualifications
