About the role

The Sportsbook Writer and Ticket Writer roles at BetMGM are dedicated to providing exceptional customer service and managing sports wagers accurately. These positions are based in Glendale, AZ.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver and maintain best-in-class customer service with a focus on customer acquisition and retention
  • Aid customers with property-related items such as seating, food and beverage assistance, and kiosk wagers
  • Create, verify, and make payments on tickets for sports wagers according to department policy and procedures
  • Maintain and balance cash drawers for assigned shifts, adhering to cash-handling policies and procedures
  • Stock sportsbook Writer/Cashier's stations with necessary supplies and keep stations neat and clean
  • Explain wagering rules, including betting lines and odds, and procedures to customers
  • Assist customers with digital app wagering items such as deposits, withdrawals, registrations, and customer service escalations
  • Ensure the protection of customer rewards and adherence to credit lines
  • Notify management of escalated or prevalent guest issues/concerns and any apparent suspicious activity
  • Partner with Customer Service to resolve customer issues as needed
  • Perform other job-related duties as requested

Qualifications

  • Ability to gain and maintain a Gaming License through the proper regulatory body
  • At least 21 years old
  • Minimum six (6) months of cash-handling experience with basic math skills
  • Basic computer and reservation software skills
  • Excellent customer service skills and interpersonal abilities
  • Strong ability to escalate potential complaints and business risks
  • Ability to work as a part of a team in a high-stress and high-volume environment with attention to detail
  • Ability to work in and adapt to a dynamic and frequently changing environment
  • Professional, neat, and well-groomed appearance, adhering to department and company brand standards

Pay

The hourly range for this position is $18.00 to $21.10. Factors affecting starting pay may include geography/market, skills, education, experience, and other qualifications of the successful candidate.

Schedule

This position is eligible for participation in a performance-based bonus plan.

As an online gaming company, BetMGM is required to comply with state gaming regulations which includes licensing obligations. Applicable employees must be licensed by at least one jurisdictional agency, although certain positions require licensing by multiple agencies. Failure to become licensed or maintain licensure with each agency as required for the role may result in termination of employment. Candidates must comply with and support BetMGM's responsible gambling policies, procedures, and initiatives.
