SPORTS REPORTER

About the role

The Kane County Chronicle is seeking a sportswriter to join our team in St. Charles, IL. We cover high schools and other sports events in the Tri-Cities area.

Responsibilities

• Write clear, concise, and engaging sports stories and features
• Use photos and video in reporting
• Engage and grow the audience through social media
• Collaborate with photographers and other reporters
• Work in a deadline-driven environment

Requirements

• Experience in a deadline-driven environment
• Valid driver's license, proof of insurance, reliable transportation, and acceptable motor vehicle record
• Two years of professional experience preferred, but recent college graduates will be considered

Qualifications

• Solid knowledge of AP Style and grammar
• Experience with the Web and multimedia is a plus

• Ability to engage and grow the audience through social media
