Sports Medicine Associate Sales Representative (Oklahoma City, OK )
At Smith+Nephew we design and manufacture technology that takes the limits off living. As an Associate Sales Representative, you will be a product consultant in the Sports Medicine product portfolio specializing in soft tissue injury repair and degenerative conditions of the shoulder, knee, hip, and small joints.
About the role
As a member of the Sports Medicine Sales Team, the ASR will work with a team within an assigned territory and hospital accounts. Within those accounts, the ASR will assist in providing clinical case coverage in the operating room, secure inventory for those cases, observe and consult the surgical team on Smith+Nephew instrumentation and implants, and complete the logistical requirements associated with those cases.
This position requires collaboration with Sales Reps within the territory as well as key orthopedic surgeons, hospital and OR staff, administrators, and clinicians. The role demands the ability to assimilate and learn a high level of technical information as it relates to surgery and procedures.
Responsibilities
- Assist in providing clinical case coverage in the operating room.
- Secure inventory for surgical cases.
- Observe and consult surgical teams on Smith+Nephew instrumentation and implants.
- Complete logistical requirements associated with surgical cases.
- Collaborate with Sales Reps, orthopedic surgeons, hospital and OR staff, administrators, and clinicians.
- Develop an effective territory business plan to generate revenue and meet or exceed quota.
- Provide first-class technical support to ensure product availability meets customer and patient needs.
- Partner with Smith+Nephew Reconstruction and Sports Medicine counterparts to discover sales opportunities.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
- Minimum two years of sales experience in the medical device industry preferred.
- Preferred experience in the healthcare industry, specifically selling orthopedic products.
- Proven track record selling or converting business at the surgeon or hospital level.
- Experience leading or mentoring team members and new sales representatives.
- Ability to travel within a designated sales territory with 2-4 overnights per month.
- Infrequent national travel for events and conferences.
- Must successfully complete the credentialing process and comply with healthcare facility requirements, including adherence to any established vaccine protocols.
