About the role
As an Associate Sales Representative (ASR) in the Sports Medicine product portfolio, you will specialize in soft tissue injury repair and degenerative conditions of the shoulder, knee, hip, and small joints. You will work with a team within an assigned territory and hospital accounts, providing clinical case coverage in the operating room, securing inventory, observing, and consulting the surgical team on Smith+Nephew instrumentation and implants.
Responsibilities
- Assist in providing clinical case coverage in the operating room
- Secure inventory for surgical cases
- Observe and consult the surgical team on Smith+Nephew instrumentation and implants
- Complete logistical requirements associated with surgical cases
- Collaborate with the Sales Reps within the territory and key orthopedic surgeons, hospital and OR staff, administrators, and clinicians
- Build positive relationships with surgeons, hospital staff, and co-workers to enhance access to customers
- Develop an effective territory business plan to generate revenue and meet/exceed quota
- Provide technical support to ensure product availability meets customer and patient needs
- Partner with Smith+Nephew Reconstruction and Sports Medicine counterparts in the region to discover sales opportunities
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
- Minimum (2) two years sales experience in medical device industry preferred
- Preferred experience in the healthcare industry, specifically selling orthopedic products
- Proven track record selling/converting business at the surgeon or hospital level
- Experience leading/mentoring team members and new sales representatives
- Ability to work untraditional hours to support the salesforce and customers
- Self-motivated salesperson with a passion for driving the business forward and increasing sales revenue within the territory
- Passionate about forming relationships to improve patient outcomes
- Resourceful consultant committed to becoming proficient in Sports Medicine surgical procedures

Pay
Competitive salary and bonus structure based on performance
Schedule
Unrestricted travel within the designated sales territory with 2-4 overnight stays per month. Infrequent national travel for events and conferences.
