About the role
This is a seasonal position providing interpreting services for student athletes during the specified sport season (Winter, Fall, Spring, or Summer).
Responsibilities
- Provide interpreting services (Oral, Cued, Sign, and Transcription) for assigned sports: Football, Basketball, Wrestling, or Track.
- Travel with team(s) to attend practices and games (home and away).
- Adapt service delivery to the cognitive and maturational level of students.
- Ensure student athletes have the same opportunities and experiences as their hearing peers through fluent sign language.
- Adhere to IEP directives, objectives, and goals as set by the educational team.
- Engage in professional development to enhance skills and theoretical knowledge.
- Participate in ongoing training to develop and enhance ethical decision-making.
Requirements
- Certification by the Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf preferred.
- Must be certified to interpret in an educational setting.
- Plans to successfully pass the EIPA written test and complete the EIPA performance test with a score of 3.5 or above.
- Valid Driver’s License & Evidence of Insurability.
Pay
$500 - $4000 depending on sport.
