SPORTS COACHING ABROAD
When you volunteer abroad with Dream Africa Care Foundation, you give a helping hand to poor and underprivileged people, communities, and organizations. Volunteering on projects can also benefit the volunteer.
About the role
If you have a love for sports and some sporting ability, you could play an important part in the personal development of young sportsmen and women in Ghana. Our sports projects include soccer (football), basketball, and netball coaching in schools and communities. Volunteer Sports Coaching Placements can have a very positive impact on children, providing physical and mental benefits, as well as teaching life skills such as teamwork, communication, and discipline.
Sports bring people together, build strong communities, and contribute to healthy, happy individuals. For many from disadvantaged backgrounds, sports can offer a route out of poverty and a path of excitement and promise.
Responsibilities
- Foster local sports talent through coaching and supporting trainee coaches.
- Help develop communities by offering alternatives to young people in impoverished areas.
- Promote inclusion by making sports available to all.
- Organize and lead training sessions, including drills and fitness activities.
- Coach sports teams in competitive games.
- Assist in all aspects of training, from setting up sessions to providing guidance during games.
Requirements
- Love for sports and basic sporting ability.
- No prior coaching experience required; we assist volunteers regardless of experience.
- Enthusiasm and willingness to work with young people in disadvantaged communities.
Schedule
We will help you find a schedule that suits you. You could be learning more about your sport in the morning and organizing a game in the afternoon.
