Sports Bar Lead Server-Bartender
Non-tipped position, full time (5 days a week, weekends and holidays required).
About the role
Freedom Plaza is looking for an experienced Sports Bar Lead Server/Bartender to join our fast-paced Sports Bar team. This is a unique, hands-on position combining lead server responsibilities with bartending duties. You will help keep the entire Sports Bar moving—from taking care of residents and guests to supporting the expo line, running food, assisting other servers, and stepping behind the bar to prepare beer, wine and cocktails. We are willing to train the right person on our specific beverage program and service standards; however, candidates should come to the position with strong restaurant serving experience and a working foundation in bartending.
Responsibilities
- Provide friendly, attentive food and beverage service to residents and guests.
- Help lead the Sports Bar floor and keep service organized during busy periods.
- Prepare and serve beer, wine, spirits and standard cocktails.
- Support the expo line and ensure orders are accurate and ready before leaving the kitchen.
- Run food and assist servers during high-volume periods.
- Maintain awareness of tables, ticket flow, bar needs and overall service.
- Assist with resident concerns and communicate service issues promptly.
- Help with opening, closing, stocking and side work.
- Maintain bar supplies, glassware, garnishes and beverage products.
- Accurately process resident and guest food and beverage charges.
- Maintain a clean, organized and sanitary Sports Bar.
- Support and encourage teamwork throughout the shift.
Requirements
- Previous serving experience in a fast-paced restaurant, bar or sports bar environment.
- Previous bartending experience or a working knowledge of beer, wine, spirits and basic cocktail preparation.
- Ability to confidently work behind the bar when needed.
- Strong floor awareness and ability to recognize where support is needed.
- Comfortable working the dining floor, expo line, food running and bar.
- Strong communication and hospitality skills.
- Ability to multitask and remain organized during busy service periods.
- Team-focused attitude with the ability to lead by example.
- Dependable attendance and availability to work weekends and holidays.
Additional bartending training will be provided, but candidates must have a basic bartending foundation.
